Anybody remember this arcade gem from the 90's?

I remember that game. I played it once at an arcade in Atlanta (or was it Indianapolis?). I remember not liking it all that much.

Actually, Sega released a second game that used the same cabinet/technology. It was called Holosseum. It was a fighting game, but only had like 4 characters to choose from, the moves were slow and uninteresting. Overall, the game was terrible.

Edit: Here's a video of it being played:

I remember seeing it when my kids wanted to go to the arcade. I remember the cowboy, the curved mirror ... and the fact that I never once saw ANYONE playing it.

"the engine" wasn't really one at all, it was basically a simple show a movie and now you do a move on the joystick/button.

Once the patterns were known there was no gameplay.

Neat concept though.

I remember the cool Star Wars-like holographic effect, but the game itself didn't look very interesting at all.

It was pretty bad, after the few days of novelty wore off, nobody played it.
Even with free games I never played it.
Had a friend who worked there and we stayed after hours to "test the machines". :)

I also remember Sega Holosseum in the same cabinet.

When my local arcade was selling their Time Traveler machine, I wanted to buy it and connect a PC with an emulated SNES fighter like Killer Instinct. Disable backgrounds and mirror the graphics and it would be awesome.

I also read an article in Popular Science magazine a long time ago that talked about this mirror dome hologram tech.

The moves don't look "slow" but it does seem like an epic fail of a fighting game. Looks faster than Virtual Fighter (another Sega game) actually.
