anybody reading naruto manga?

Are you taking about who the "fake madara"/tobi really is? My guess its actually Madara's brother since the only person who said he was dead was tobi and he could easily be lying.

Uchiha Obito, the guy who gave his eye to Kakashi. Probably the reason there was that Kakashi Gaiden arc before Naruto Shippuden. I believe he gave his LEFT eye to Kakashi since his right side was crushed by a rock. Tobi only ever shows his RIGHT eye having the sharingan (the ostensibly crushed side). While we assumed he was killed by falling rocks, that was off-screen and no one actually saw him die.

Also, phonetically, Obito backwards sounds like Tobi. They use that reversal a lot in mangas.

There's always SOME stupid reason for them to turn to the dark side. I call it the "Darth Vader" principle. Give a crappy illogical motivation to turn a character from completely good to completely evi.

i think u have something there. kakashi does have a similar sharingan power as tobi (although not as powerful)

Obito seems like an unlikely candidate... he's one of those ones you would say inherited the "will of fire".

Perhaps how we can go about it is go by who Kabuto has yet to resurrect.

Orochimaru - Is a possibility considering he was such a central character at the beginning and was also a member of Atkatsuki who left was replaced by Tobi. Both characters is somehow invested in Sasuke. Plus he can switch bodies. And since Kabuto is such a loyal follower, you would think he would have resurrected Orochimaru as well but he didn't.

Sarutobi (3rd Hokage) - Unlikely

Jiraya - Also unlikely, plus there's a reason why he can't be resurrected like the 4th Hokage, I forget what it was.

As for op, one of the other boards I read is a manga forum, and its been discussed in length who the masked person is. The current general thought is that fake madara is a split soul version of madara much like what muu did a few chapters ago. That would explain why he refers himself as a weakened version of his former self, requiring nagatos resurrection jutsu, why he was surprised when kabuto opened the coffin infront of him, why the kyubi recognized him as madara during the birthing of naruto, theres more if you want. But other theories him has obito (tobi > obito) but I dont like it because he was crushed under a bunch of rocks and we saw him supposedly die, plus his eye is on the wrong side. It could be madaras younger brother, or a brainwashed hashirama clone or some other random char we dont know about.

Orochimaru is not dead, cannot be resurrected. He is either still in a permanent genjutsu or ran away after being burned by a ameratsu when he was a little snake

Sarutobi cannot be edo tensie, he is in the middle of the shinigami's dimension and you cant edo tensie people whos soul is already owned by something else, also why we wont see the 1, 2, or 4 hokage and possibly half of the kyuubi's chakra

Jiraya is in the middle of the ocean under the city of rain, cant get whats at the bottom of the ocean apparently.

The 4th can't be brought back because he sealed him soul with the part of the 9 tails. So his soul cant be brought back to the living because its sealed away.

Kabuto said that Jiraya's body is at the bottom of the ocean where it cannot be found, so he has no DNA to preform the resurrection. Its kind of a weak reason, but i was said a few chapters ago.

Hmm... I remember Orochimaru had another resurrection ready in that fight. I think some assumed that he was going to try bring the 4th back. I'll have to look at some of the old chapters when i get home....

I'm pretty sure that Kabuto said that those who were sealed could not be brought back. That's why we wont see the 1st, 2nd or 3rd again.
