So I come home today & after an alarming $200 electric bill in July of this year, we managed our electric usage wisely and bills slowly came down & the last couple months have been under $100.

Well, today I open up my Edison bill to find $309!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I immediately knew something had to be wrong, so I began scouring the bill. I found the initial read & noticed this.......

"Actual Read.........10/06/06 = 68300.................11/07/06 = 69663"

Whooaaaa......we used 1,363kWh???? Uhhh........WRONG!!! (It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how the dials work to get the #) Check out the pic..........

Uhhh........YA........they're gettin' a call from me in the morning!

He's saying that the difference between the 32 days is 1.3MWh. A bit much for a regular household.

EDIT: Sorry, typo.

I cannot believe your elect. co. is still using the old dial readout meters. I thought they'd all gone to the digital readout meters that report directly back to the elect. co. without having to have a meter reader come out. The readout on the meter, a small LCD panel, is plainly readable in numbers, like 52348 or whatever.

Ours still looks like that. And the gas meter is the same, exept its in the basement and they cant read it unless we are home. Major PITA.
