Anybody played with the TMD fans? I think mine isn't working right...

I was a little uncomfortable with the temperatures the stock intel HS/fan were getting on my 1.8A, so I ordered a Swiftech MCX4000 & a TMD fan from HeatSink Factory.

I have it all installed, & the temperatures are MUCH higher than they were previously when running under load. When previously running P95 I would see a top of 56-57ºC I checked it & it was running at 65ºC! Needless to say I killed P95 & my CPU is slowly dropping back to 50ºC.

The problem I see, though, is that the fan speed is reported as <1800 RPM in Gigabyte's monitoring application... That seems MUCH too low, considering it's rated at 4500 RPM on their web page...

WTF did I do wrong?

Well, now it doesn't spin up at all when I turn the system on.

Woohoo!

Tried two different fan headers, both of which worked fine earlier tonight when I tried it. The retail fan works fine in them still, so I'm pretty sure this nifty TMD fan is history.

Let's see what HSF has to say...
