I just bought a '98 Dodge Durango SLT+ yesterday. Forest Green with Tan leather. Anyone have any comments or experiences?

I have a platinum silver 2000 Dodge Durango SLT. Bought it with every damn option I could get. Has the 318 engine in it since the 360 is a nice engine but a little gas hungry. I have never had a problem with it except for the fact that it hates cheap gas. If I put anything less than 91 or 93 octane in it the things knocks like crazy. I would also recommend switching to a synthetic oil if you can. Mobil 1 is tops of the readily available synthetics and is the same price as Castrol, Quaker State, etc...

Good luck with your baby!!! I love mine!

Mine has the 5.2L Magnum V8, with every option available in '98 including Skid plates, and Towing package. I'm excited waiting to pick it up. :)

Beautiful Vehicle. Was considering one but the gas mileage was a little problem. Wouldnt have let that stop me if I really wanted one. Interested in the new GMC now but havent researched.

Good luck. Dodge engines and transmissions are bulletproof in my experience.

18,000 for a used one? Damn!! I paid that after trade-in and talking them down for my brand new one.

Depends on how much your trade was worth, but I find it hard to believe you found a 2001 brand new for 18k. I've done my hw, and this really is a good deal.

Sticker on my 2000 was $35,900...I talked them down quite a bit and then traded in my 96 S-10 Blazer.

Its actually very interesting anybody would buy a Durango, given the present (more carelike) choices out there. The Toyota Sequoia seems to be better, or even a Ford Expedition. The ratings for Durangos don't seem to be that good anymore, considering roughly 35K new will buy you a Mercedes ML.

Though for the more rugged truck based SUVs, the Durango is one of the better ones.
