I notice that Fry's have pretty cheap prices for DDR ram. Anybody out there using their RAM in a P4 or AMD rig?

I have a friend using the cheap fry's stuff, pc2100. He hasn't tweaked the timings or overclocked yet, but it runs stable at the default settings. I didn't recognize the name on the chips, lei or something. I really doubt he could get much of an overclock out of it. It works for the average build though.

The fry's cheapest ram will work fine if you don't overclock. My friend has a Fry's P4 with DDR he got there and it runs great. But I got occasional freezes when I overclocked Fry's ram in my cpu.

Fry's also carries Mushkin passed ram but it's not cheap.

My buddy here at work used it on a new system he built: Dragon Plus mobo, XP 1900+, blah, blah. He was crashing so bad he couldn't even install XP. He spent days fighting the problem. Turned out to be Fry's memory causing the problem. He took the whole system to Fry's and stayed after hours with the techs until they put some Corsair in the system. Runs like a raped ape now.
