I don't dislike cats. I'm a big dog person, and I like most pets. Cats are soft and cuddly just like dogs too.

But I don't like the fact their brain is wired differently. They don't have loyalty, and can freak out anytime to scratch and bite you. They can throw a hissy fit as they please and I feel like you're their bitch. I know couple of cat owners and they always have scratch and bite marks on them LOL.

I'm not a fan of their puncturing fangs and scary looking ones signify bad omen in movies.

Generally, I like cats. But I prefer dogs.

That is not always true, my male cat(i have two, one male one female) has fierce loyalty towards me, he comes when i call him everytime, he sleeps on my side of the bed only, always sits on me on the couch when there is a choice of my or the gf. Even though my girlfriend is home more than me.

Also they only scratch and bite and get out of control if you let them, as long as you lay down the law when they have an outburst they can and will learn to behave, All i need to do now is raise my voice and talk in the right tone and both my cats turn into the cutest most inocent looking felines you have ever seen, even if they are standing beside a mess they just made they try so hard to act like they had nothing to do with it when i raise my voice at them :)

I think alot of people also are just scared of cats when they only want to play, my female cat loves to play and will bat at you with her claws tucked in and bite you and growl like you wouldnt believe and act like she is tearing the skin off whatever part of you she decides to bite but she just grabs hard enough with her teeth to be felt, not break the skin. Of course if you dont know her you would think she is going to try and eat you for breakfast.

here is a rule if you are playing with a cat that has claws:

don't, I repeat, don't pull your hand away if the cat grabs you with the claws out. Just leave it still and the cat will quickly let go because you aren't actively engaging the cat in play.

my cat used to grab my hand and then try to bite it. If I stopped moving my hand she would then start licking it instead. LOL

My cats are great. They both worship me, and are a lot of fun to have around. I don't mind getting scratched when playing hard. It doesn't hurt much, and the cats have fun.

My cat is loyal. That's probably because I rescued her when she was starving on the street, so she now recognizes me as her source of noms.

I used to be indifferent to cats... but my ex's cat was such a monster that it really turned me off to the entire species.

that so many cat owners just ceede their house over to the cats and refuse to attempt to train them just annoys me.

my ex's cat would jump on the bed at all hours of the night and meow loudly until someone woke up and gave her attention... she also felt perfectly comfortable leaping onto my shoulders while I'd be going to the bathroom and ruined a ton of my shirts thanks to kneading

I was a dog person until I had a cat come into my life. Now, I will never have another dog again. Cats are great companions and are way less hassle. I do love dogs, I just don't like the added responsibility, cats are almost completely self sufficient and mine aren't needy at all. Such easy pets.

Can't stand cats, for exactly the reasons stated in the OP.

Dogs are only a slight improvement on cats.

No pets are the answer for me.

nope, don't like cats at all. they seem to love me though.

I'm a dog kind of guy, >=30lbs dogs, not rats with long hair.

I used to hate cats. I'm now more indifferent/tolerant.

I have known some pretty cool neighborhood-ruling cats in my lifetime, though. So I give them some respect when respect is due.

my old cat did that, my DOG does that. he will tooth me pretty good and I will say ow and he pulls back then licks my hand or foot where he 'bit' me.

My cat is fiercely loyal. She meets me at the door every day when I get home from work, guards me from the safety of the shelf in my office, and "talks" to me when she wants something.

She's also a whore. She is completely trusting of strangers (which is strange for a cat), and won't hesitate to completely ignore me if someone else is giving her attention.

I love cats. If you don't let them out all cats are loyal even if they have a bad character :p

allergics: have you ever tried to sniff the siberian cat? I heard it's anallergenic.

Agreed, we have two cats and they both have very distinctly different personalities. The big gray male, who we named Romeo, is very affectionate and he loves me. He is always jumping up into my lap for a nice warm place to curl up and sleep. I love that cat! Even my son can just pick him up and hold him like a baby, he's very gentle.

The little one is very friendly but it has to be on her terms. You can't just pick her up and pet her anytime. She will scratch you if she wants to get down and she won't let you hold her like a baby.

They are both very playful and social.
