Some people just have great teeth while other have horrid ones. I have to agree with everone though..go see the dentist. Yes, they are evil, but an important evil. You certainly don't want to end up looking like ausm's girlfriend! 😉😕

looking to schedule appointment, the dentist is gonna be like "you moron you havent been to the dentist in 20 years, wtf is wrong with you"

On another note, tooth decay is caused by very specific bacteria.. primarily Streptococcus A, IIRC.

I read an article a while back where some researchers had found a plant substance that caused your body to produce antibodies for Strep. A... the hope was that it could one day be included in mouth care products, virtually eliminating tooth decay...

I wonder what happened with that? Maybe the Dental Association swept it under the carpet?...

If your dentist does that..leave. He/she will suggest you visit every 6 months but it is not uncommon for people to never visit a dentist till there is a problem. I just think it is better to preserve the teeth you have then to end up with false ones early.

I'm sure there are products that could be made that won't require you to go see a dentist twice every year but the ADA keeps them from reaching market by simply not approving it.

If the dentist gives you any flak blame your parents. You may or may not have your wisdom teeth yet and should have them assesed. A cleaning always feels good, I went without dental insurance for a year and it was driving me crazy by the time I made it back in for a check up. One of the biggest things a cleaning will do for you is take care of plaque that builds up below the gumline, which you can't effectively take care of on your own. If you have ever talked face to face with someone and they have an overwhleming scent of dog sh!t from their mouth, that is plaque breath- the biggest reason to go.

I hadn't gone in two years, but I finally made a trip and he said everything looks perfect. I am back on the 2x a year schedule... I think😕
