Anybody love their job?

Right now the only reason I leave my job is to sleep, if they let me move a couch into my office I would get rid of my apartment and save rent money (there's a couple of showers in the building and extra storage in the attic) 😀

Right now I'm interning at small academic institution, doing IT, supporting end users (staff, facualty and 400 students), doing some long term project stuff (print accounting system, RADIUS for wireless, cgi scripts for website).

I'll probably get tired of this after a year or so but it's hard to believe that I actually get paid to play around with trying to implement different server systems, things I probably would have done in my free time for fun.

My gf used to make fun of me for being such a geek but now I can just tell everyone I'm working late😛

Show me a person who truely loves their job, and I will show you someone who works in the porno industry.

my boss bought me a car, i can wear swim trunks and flip flops to meetings, i can come and go as i please when i want, and i play with computers all day.

I don't know, seems like a lot of pressure and stuff.

Actually, I do quite like my job at the moment- I spent the afternoon doing some environmental heat testing on the LGA-775 platform with an evaluation board & chip from Intel. The SouthBridge says "SECRET" on it, which makes it highly cool.
Anyway, suffice to say that the 3Ghz SocketT part hits 68C in a 34C environment under load. Yikes.
[Edit] That's in a fully-assembled mid-tower case too, with 90mm exhaust and 80mm intake fans.

Oh, and tomorrow I'm setting up a quad-Xeon 2Gb RAM server with an 8-drive RAID5 array to simulate the effects of rolling out Server 2003 to our current server base, including messing with some client machines too. This rocks 😀

Starting to like the job I do (Sales / Marketing car parts), but hate the people. Especially this coworker in the same office who never stop singing.

It's hard to truely love your job. You're a lucky bastard.

I love my job... the boss is a good guy and extremely intelligent. I get to work on interesting projects and learn new stuff all the time. The travel can be a bit much (i was gone about 12-14 days in August) but it's to fun places at least. The money is good too.... can't complain
