Anybody like to watch MYTHBUSTERS on Discovery Channel?

Boom Lift Catapult - sounds like "Buster" is going for a ride 🙂

I try to catch this every week. While Adam and Jamie don't always use the best scientific methods, I find the show very entertaining (which is the point as far as Discovery is concerned I guess) 😉

Anybody else watch the show??

I like the show even though I do not always agree with thier methods.
I wish they would do a bit on each show about stuff from Macgyver episodes.

Exactly. The one that bothered me the most was the walk in rain instead of run in rain show. They proved that if you walk, your shirt/coat will be drier than if you ran. Big deal, most people (especially women) are concerned with keeping their head dry (hair style anyone?). They neglected to even test how much water hit the top of the head.

I caught it once, pretty cool show. The one I saw had a bit on a magic bullet (one that dissolved after it did it's work). Basically they tried making one out of ice and then jello, and a few other things (I think meat was one). Was pretty interesting, I'd watch it again but never paid attention to when it's on.

(That episode also did a study on if you get more wet walking or running in the rain, and, IIRC it was running that lost out but wasn't a huge difference either way.)

I do not like the new format at all. What is with all these new people? Why must they now have lackeys?
They've always had lackeys. Just now they are showing the lackeys and giving them full credit.

I think since the show has taken off they want more shows and/or more ptojects to choose from. As such A and J dont have the time to do the show and run their business so they do the main project and let the new peopel do the smaller ones.

Agree 100%. It's a great show, but much of the appeal is the chemistry and light bickering between Jamie and Adam. Without that a lot of the fun is lost.

Exactly, their chemistry is really good.

I like how they drop the f-bomb every now and then... especially the dude with the mustache (bitchin' mustache btw)...

And now, in addition to co-hosting Discovery Channel's MythBusters, Adam also teaches advanced model making, most recently in the industrial design department at the San Francisco Academy of Art.

That makes the show.
I do however really like the red-head girl a lot. She's so cute. Chunky in the right spots.

The part that annoyed me more than anything was the fact that they only tested one circumstance. The wind was only blowing from one direction and at one speed. My guess is that they would find that the best way to move through rain is at the same speed as the wind.

I was also annoyed by the episode where they "searched" Giant stadium for Jimmy Hoffa's body. They search four sections and then proclaimed without a doubt that Jimmy Hoffa was not located in the stadium. Yup, that's scientific.

their methods suck..hehe

discovery channel used to have awesome shows like beyond2000, and awesome "smart animals" shows and such. nowadays, they show dumbafied reality "let's make bikes" and these..

although i still watch them hehe 😛
