So I got this new Leadtek TV2000XP/EXPERT PCI Interface for my friend who recently purchased a Dell E510. [yeah the Pentium D 820 is horrendous]

It so happens that this TV tuner card needs a separate connection into the mobo using the 4 pin connector for CD in to be able to play sound from the TV. Problem is that he has onboard sound and doesn?t want to change that [doesn?t have PCI slots either]. The newer dell mobos unfortunately Do Not have this 4 pin audio in on their board. Had to RMA that card back to newegg.

I used to have a TV Tuner card which used to transmit the sound directly through the PCI interface. Have no clue which one it was though. Does any one know of any TV Tuner Cards which will be able to work without this audio Molex onboard?

Looking for a basic card around $ 30 - $ 80 ish. Nothing fancy. just plain ole TV is good enuff. No HD No PVR.

Although onboard a 7.1 card better have line in. True False anybody? The Dell site really doesnt offer any more details on the connectors.

P.S. RyanVM does the audio cable come with the card or will I have to get it seperately?

Sign me confused. I have a TV Wonder Elite and don't remember connecting any sound dongles. The TV sound comes out of the tuner as an encoded audio stream, and Beyond TV software just pumps the sound out of the Audigy's DAC. What does the sound connector do for you? I recall needing one on SB cards if you wanted to play audio CDs.

Sameone u use for the CD. we need to connect it from the TV Tuner Card instead. My older one used to do the same. just plug n play no hassles. dunno whats with teh newer cards. Lemme check out ur TV wonder Elite.

P.S. Is beyond TV directly compatible with thsi TV Wonder Elite thing? If yes that would be hot for its Tivo like functions.

Yeah, worked like a charm out of the box. I love this program. It's slickly designed, and solid as a rock on my system.
