I knwo the beta download period is closed but I want to get rid of XP 32 bit b/c I want to add more memory and update my GPU and monitor for better gaming and movie viewing. So I need a 64 bit OS.

As you seem to be aware, Microsoft isn't making Win7 available for download by the general public right now. No one who does have access to builds of Win7 is authorized to share them. So this boils down to "help me get an illegitimate copy of Win7" and the thread is being closed. There may be a Release Candidate available later, so keep your ear to the ground

You can buy Vista in a retail store if you need a 64-bit OS, or you can use the free alternative and run Linux.

well I heard windows 7 will be just as good as vista if not better. Is linux a 64 bit OS b/c thats what I really need.

There are 32-bit and 64-bit versions usually (I've never seen 32-bit and 64-bit versions not offered, but I guess it could happen). So you just select either version when you download whatever distro you pick.

He said gaming.

404 Argument not found.

There are plenty games that run native on Linux, and even more through Wine.

In fact, a few years ago when I played WoW it ran BETTER in Linux under Wine then in Windows on my hardware.
