Anybody know what power calibration error when burning a cd is?

Ok, friend is burning cds fine, then gets slammed with this error, says it has a power calibration error and cannot burn on either of his burners in his computer. Any clue what that would be?
 
Could be the cd media being used. Power calibration pertains to the intensity of the laser used with certain dyes. Some dyes require greater intensity. It's possible that you have a newer dye that it can't recognize.
