Anybody Know what DPI the new Logitech Optical Mice are rated at?

Good question. They haven't made any claims like Microsoft that they have introduced the newer technology into their optical mice like Microsoft has (the 33% faster sticker on intellimouse opticals). I would think that either they

1. Are still using the slower optical tech
2. Introduced the new tech without telling use


I personally think that 1. is the case since one would think that like Microsoft they would have made a big deal about the fact that they had a faster optical sensor. Anyone else have something more concrete?
 
I read somewhere that Logitech used the same optical hardware in their optical mice as Microsoft, but the "33% faster" claim has me stumped. It's likely that the "33% faster" optics don't use constant DPI res, much like the "33% slower" optics. The max rated DPI for the "33% slower" optics were ~1500.
 
Well I just bought the optical Mouseman wheel. I bought it because my Razer 2000 crapped out on me. Quite honestly I really dont notice a difference. It does glide more smoothly over my everglide than the Razer did. I also have the IE explorer on another computer and I like the Logitech mouse much better-it seems more smooth and it is much more solid of a product. I was just worried that I would go through "Razer withdrawls" once I got a new mouse. I can say im quite pleasently surprised.
 
Well, after I played a few games I now notice a difference. The Razer is so much smoother. Going to return the Mouseman and buy a new Razer.
 
the logitech opticals use 2000 sampling rate. that is the speed the new MS ones are running at.

That's not DPI...the old optical sensors took 1500 pictures / sec, and the new ones take 2000 pictures / sec, that doesn't translate directly to DPI though. I read somewhere that the 1500Hz sensor was rated at roughly 1200dpi, so I guess that would make the 2000Hz sensor rougly 1600dpi. I don't know which the logitech uses but either way it's more than than the Razor 1000 but less than the Razor 2000.
