Anybody know the release date of a quad-core 32nm core i7?

Does anyone know when the 32nm core i7 mainstream processors will be released? I know about the 970 but it's just too expensive.

There has been no announcement of any I7 32nm quads in the works before SB comes out and continues using the I7 naming scheme, at least not that I'm aware of. If you want a 32nm quad, you can get a Xeon or you can wait for the socket change with SB in about 1/2 year.

U can get Xeons which will work in standard X58 and overclock in 32nm + 12meg cache.

4.5GHz on air will be nice, I'm wondering what load temps are like on the 32nm process though. I'd of jumped on an i7 if they didn't run so hot.

the X5677 i got to play with was very very nice.

did around 4.8ghz on water, with HT on at around 1.4vcore

Unfortunately it was a loner. I had to pick between a 980X and a X5677, and it was no a no brainier.

But it was one sick cpu.

funny somehow I remember reading somewhere at beginning of the year that 32nm i7s are due end of 2010. or it might just be me dream it. In fact how about 32nm i7s AND 32nm BDs at Xmas? too much wishful thinking? whichever company can manage this will get 100% of Xmas 2010 sales from cpus!

Its still marginally possible that the 32nm i7-2600 will be out by Xmas, but I wouldn't count on it.

As for the BD there is absolutely zero chance that it will be out by then.

I guarantee you NO company can release 32nm i7s AND 32nm BDs EVER seeing as one is intel and the other is amd.
