anybody know the laws about carpool lanes in CA?

If i've got an 04 civic hybrid, and am buying a new 08 prius, can i just move the stickers over or is there a registration issue?

All Clean Air Stickers remain with the vehicle they were originally issued to and cannot be transferred to any other vehicle. If you purchase a vehicle that has a Clean Air Sticker you may transfer the sticker to your name.

From the DMV website. So you have to go to the DMV and get it changed but I didnt read anything since you already have one. Mine as well give them a call and see what to do.

The stickers stay with the car, you can not remove them from one car and put them on your new vehicle.

The new owner has to go to the DMV and register the stickers that came on the car they bought and re-register them in their name.

Since no new stickers in California are being issued since we hit the limit expect your old car to be worth more because of the stickers. New hybrid sales are slowing because of the stickers no longer being issued.

Yeah, no moving the stickers.

No stickers and a lamer car... Why in the world are you buying a Prius now? Unless the Civic has more than 200K on the odometer, I don't see how this is a good idea.

I believe some states will give you the left over credit for canceling a car's registration. The downside is that the credit depreciates.. slowly...
