Anybody know of a fix for a vertical green line on a laptop LCD

A friend of mine has a laptop that just goes through normal use. Protected and all, and all the sudden today the LCD showed up with a vertical green line across the LCD.

Any ideas what caused this and/or how to fix this? Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions/ideas.

Replacement LCD time, I'm afraid; they're not a repairable item.
