Anybody know jack about dual AC/DC powered smoke alarms? I have one that is randomly beeping. We changed the battery and while it was disconnected it beeped twice (it seems the beep is coming something else). LIke where the wiring is. I cant figure it out, its irritating the hell out of me.

I dont know if its connected to the house / town house alarm system or something. I dont know. Any suggestions on where it is beeping and how I may fix this.

If it's from the alarm it's that the batteries are low... well usually that's it anyways. Just plug it in and be done with it. :p

I changed the batteries and it still gave a beep. These were fresh Everready batteries (not sure where I got them might be the 99c store).

The thing is that I think the unit has a capacitor, when the AC and battery was removed I was able to hit the test button to have it beep but then there was another beep that sounded..

Lets see if it goes off again later, its just totally random, it beeps once, then another one within a minute. Then goes quiet for at least 10-60 minutes.

From what I know they are a touch too much. The beeping could be caused by a monitoring system that was thunderstruck. Just forget about it, have a drink on me, and listen to hells bells in the morning.
