not really a big deal to me but seems like a big deal to my friends, cause the first thing they say when they see my computer is why that thing look so ugly and so big.then after awhlie it does look kinda ugly actually really ugly cause it does not match the silver scheme that i'm currently using.so basically i want to make the button dark grey.anybody know how?

right click desktop select apperance (i think ) then select windows clasic as the theme and hey no more silly green button

Well, I for one like the new XP interface (skin).
I've been looking at the 95, NT4, 98, 2k, screens long enough, and am more than ready for a change.

However, I do not think that the start button NEEDS to be green.
I've changed my scheme & really like the way things look, but, now that start button really stands out.
I want to make it a nice blue.

How do I do this?

I thought that the Plus pack might let you do this, but from what I hear, you just get 3 different shades of green to choose from... (how thoughtfull of MS)

eek i dont want the old windows style i just want the green color to change.i actually like the silver theme and everything but the green button does not match at all i mean what were they thinking atleast make it darkblue or dark grey.i was kinda thinking of the classic style but that reminds me too much of 98 and it just looks to plain.see my desktop is almost completely grey and the silver scheme matches it very well but the green color makes my desktop look very nasty. so far everybody thats seen my desktop talks about the green color start button, and they act as if thats the only thing they notice, and i'm like dude do you notice this is the new windowsXP then there like really well that start button gotta go.then i say why and there like it looks like a lilttle kids OS.then as i think about it sure does look like a lil kids OS.so if anybody can help me i would appricate it.

Ya it can be done but your better be handy with a hex editor and a good working knowledge of the XP registry. Im sure that there is some third party app out for XP to change the apperance of such things.
