Maaco and Earl Scheib are the two 'cheap' paint companies. The main difference between these paint jobs and the others are prep. I've seen Maaco paint over bugs, road tar, and dirt. I had a car painted at Maaco last year and did all the prep work myself. I removed the antenna, wipers, and other things. I washed (no wax) and cleaned the surface. I got back a very good paint job. These cheap places are assembly line paint jobs. You can get them from $250 to $500. They usually run sales. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Many times this is a good way to prep a car prior to selling it.
