What is your return policy?

Our online return policy may vary slightly from store policies. Best Buy stores within the United States will fully refund most items within 30 days of receipt. However, when you return an item by mail to our return center, you will only receive a credit for your purchase; exchanges can only be made at a Best Buy store within the United States. 14 days from the date merchandise was received, refunds are available on:
Computers
Monitors
Printers
Notebook Computers
Camcorders
Digital Cameras
Radar Detectors
A 15% restocking fee will be charged on returns or exchanges of any opened notebook computer, camcorder, digital camera or radar detector, unless defective. Exchanges can only be made at a Best Buy store within the United States.

30 days from the date merchandise was received, refunds are available on the remainder of our merchandise.

What i gathered from the above copy of BB's return policy is that a monitor has to be returned in 14 days, and the 15% restocking fee will not apply. Can anybody confirm? I'm mostly worried about dead pixels in LCDs and whether or not the monitor will be allowed for refund.

Make them show you the monitor in the store. If they want to sell it, they'll hook it up to a PC and show you.

15% will be charged if the item is opened and returned. If the item is being exchanged because it is defective and within the allowed time, you won't be charged anything.

but their policy says 15% fee will be charged on any opened notebook computer, camcorder, digi camera, or radar detector. it does not mention monitors.

Incorrect. The return policy is 14 days and as long as the item being returned is in the same condition that it was bought in and all acessories, manuals, UPC codes , etc are present then there will be no restocking fee.

No they probably wont. THey will allow you tp purchase the monitor and THEN they will show it to you if you are concerned. That way if it is bad they can simply grab another one and call it a day. If they open it and then you dont buy it, they have to take 10% off of it in order to sell it.

This kind of reminds of one the funniest retuning moments that I witnessed. A friend of mine was returning a tv card to comp usa and the kid working there told him he had to pay a 15% restocking fee cause it was opened. So my friend then said it was defective and he didn't want trying to get out of restocking fee but the kid said if it was defective he could only exchange it for another one. My friend then told him it was defective and asked to exchange it for a new one. As soon as the kid finished the exchange my friend told him that he wanted to return it and my friend also added it was not opened...lol...The kid looked pissed and then did the return just to get rid of him.

On a side note though my friend isn't as big of an ahole as this story makes him out to be. The store changed their return policy after my friend bought the tv card. The return policy writen on his receipt didn't mention a restocking fee. And the kid working the counter wouldn't waive the restocking because the policy changed after he bought the tv card.
