Anybody know anything about video cards getting old and freezing mice and keyboards?

Every half an hour or so they both freeze, the system continues to run which is weird. When I uninstalled drivers for the card I haven't had the problem, although I would like to use my monitor at higher than 640x480 and 16 colors. :D:)

i don't know if this is related or not, but on my old system, i used to hang up and freeze like every 30 minutes... thought it was just a POS computer... then got a voodoo 3 2000 to replace my 4MB trident, and viola! smooth sailing,... seems the trident was defective... in short, swicth vid cards if you have one available or can borrow one to see if your vid card has bit the dust...

Does Win98 have native drivers for your card? Why not try those? What card is it? Maybe it's heat on the vid chip. Put a small fan on the card for fun and see if it runs longer.

check cooling conditions. Overheating is the leading cause of failure like that, next to virii :)

Format the box, clean out the dirt on the mobo, and check the cpu fans and case fans for proper ventilation. (if you smoke or live in a dirty area, vacuum cleaner the mobo/cards/etc)
