Anybody know anything about these bands?

A friend of mine wants to go to a concert featuring JMascis & The Fog and The Jealous Sound. I don't know anything about them and would like to know what I'm getting myself into. I'm borrowing some CDs on Friday, but until that time, any opinions are appreciated!

yeah, i'm familiar with J Mascis. who isn't. he was the lead vocals for dinosaur jr. for whom i'm all sure you're acquainted with. personally, i'm not a big fan of his solo career. dinosaur jr. was rockin back when he didn't influence the band as much. most of dinosaur jr.'s later stuff was a lot more lyrical/moody in comparison to the punk/alt beginnings they had.

what kind of music do you like ? these groups are euphemistically termed by the industry as
'up an' coming'. JMascis & The Fog are an american indie rock group. small market circuit ban
doomed to minor gigs here and abroad.

where i come from, "dirty" and "fuzzy" are right on the money.

nicene, i think j mascis should be known for guitar long before vocals.
