Anybody know anything about Spam Cop or Spam Arrest?

My sister runs a legitimate retail business with a clientele of several thousand. Starting yesterday, while sending out emailings for an event/special, she started getting hundreds of her emails returned.

She is not a spammer. These are former/current customers.

This SpamCop blocks her email for XX hours to these other businesses and is causing her a real financial problem.

Calling hundreds, or thousands of customers to find out why she isn't on their list is hardly a quick option.

Anybody got any ideas? A phone number at SpamCop she can call?

Help appreciated.

The block will go away within 72 hours. Someone reported her mail server as a spam server.

Oh, I think you can go to their website and request an unblock too.

Possibly not!!! When my email was hosted at Ripplehost.com, my email addy got blocked to basically everyone by Spamhaus.org. This came suddenly, w/no warning at ALL.

AFter many emails AND phone calls to Spamhaus.org, I found out that someone with the same IP address as my email server (could've potentially been THOUSANDS of people hosted at Ripplehost!) was a spammer, but b/c I was coming from the same IP addy, I got caught up.

Tough luck for me.

Emails to the Ripplehost admin received BS, blow-off answers.

Email traffic b/t myself and other affected, innocent parties revealed the same BS, non-chalant attitude by the Ripplehost owner.

Now that I'm hosted with a real provider, I have no such problems. They don't take kindly to tomfoolery and have even emailed me a few times to check up on things when they got curious about something. I love it!

A little more each month is PRICELESS for the peace of mind I have.

YMMV, HappyPuppy. Good luck to your sister. 🙂

Yeh, that's what happened. Some reported and now she's screwed.

She has been unblocked and then almost immediately blocked again because someone else reported her or her server as a spammer.

Crap, this costs her thousands/day to lose email contact with customers/suppliers/etc.

Thanks for the replies.

I feel very badly for her; I know how it was for me and my personal email use is about 60% bills and 40% personal BS. It was CRIPPLING for me to not be able to email out for about 10 days or so...horrible stuff, man. 🙁 :brokenheart:

She may have to change providers, especially if she's wtih some small, fly by night type place.

I work for a nationwide ISP and we use Spamhaus. Go here for info if you're being blocked.

We actually have a direct database with them and can have listing removed within 30 minutes if you're connecting through us.

It's mainly a certain (or multiple) ISPs that blocked her address. My wife's company had that happen. They have an associated of 5500 or so people and their domain got blocked form emailing any of their members because someone reported something. She had to contact the ISP and get it fixed.
