Anybody know anything about a really old Toyota SUV?

While jogging yesterday, I ran past an older (70's looking) SUV for sale. Really boxy looking, but it ended up being a Toyota. Doesn't look like a 4runner at all unless it's the very first generation and they were ripping off the Range Rover.

Anybody know about the earlier Toyota SUVs? Cause this one needs a paint job and would probably be next to free. I'll see if I can grab a picture later today.

Proceed carefully. Those 70's and early 80's Toyotas had real rust problems.

If it is cheap I would buy it. Restored Toyota FJ40 and Land Cruisers go for some pretty good money.

Absolutely. They're almost cult vehilces, and will only go up in price. Their six cylinder engine was a straight up full copy of the Chevy stovebolt six. Great basic trucks, real "honest" in that old school sense, and unlike their cars and light pickups of the same era, the bodies did NOT rust as much.

BUY THAT SUCKER. They're investments, if nothing else, and people who know and love them will flock to you in parking lots.
