So I have been trying to get all of my music singles in order for the past couple months and I have finally gotten rid of all the badly encoded songs, duplicates. Every song has an ID3 tag with the proper information in it but a lot of the cover art is low quality.

Anybody interested in getting the art for around 4,300 songs? I have been using tag and rename to get the artwork but for some reason some of the art isnt imported into itunes and it reverts back to the low quality artwork.

In return for your services you can keep all of the tunes or I can offer some money. Like I said its about 4,300 songs which is around 18GB or so. I would prefer to FTP them or something or I could just send 5 DVDs to you.

Thanks!

There is software out there that makes it pretty easy to grab cover art. I know at least Amarok has a pretty reasonable feature that will search Amazon and show a bunch of covers, from which you can pick the correct one. I doubt anyone's time is worth so little to do it for you, but you can do it yourself.

Like I said I have been using Tag&Rename but for some reason some of the art is not being transferred over.

What other software is out there you would recommend?

There's a forum for software

I've used T&R for tagging tens of thousands of songs and never had an issue with the cover-art not "sticking" I think your problem maybe more in iTunes overwriting the information. Usually in music managers like that there is an option to ONLY overwrite information already not in the ID3 tag. Usually by default its set to overwrite ANY information. I'm not familiar with iTunes, so you will have to look.

Actually I wish they would include MORE images into the ID3 tag. Entire liner notes etc. I LOVE to read liner notes of albums and the included artwork. Its an art-form that many kids reared on mp3s are missing out on.

WTF is cover flow?

also the first thing i delete when/if i download albums is the album art, i have no use or care for it
i have a binder full of CD (lega ones) just the CD, the case and cover art and all that is in a box in the basement, wasteing space

Cover flow is the album art work display mechanism within iTunes (and IPhones/iTocuhes). It allows people to flip through their collection like a jukebox. Its quite need actually.

you go through the work of actually deleting the album art from the ID3 tag? Why?

See you say the liner notes are wasted space, I think holding onto the CDs is wasted space too. I enjoy the cover art and identifying an album/artist with it. I think you can understand why some people may like album art correct? Hell I find LOTS of good, new bands just by rummaging through the new albums (at the radio station) and the artwork catching my eye)

Tag&Rename + Google's image search and Wikipedia worked well when I went to properly tag all of my music.
