Anybody here take St John's Wort for depression ?

I tried it for anxiety, which I often get when I travel. It didn't notice any difference in my well being. I've also read that St John's Wort only works for a small percentage of people, thus a placebo effect may be evident.

I have tried it and it did nothing for me. I have found that lots of excerise is the best therapy for me. You should give it a try.

Cheers,
Darkstar

Yeah, they do take a while to kick in. And it's considered a real treatment. I mean, the effect is comparable to Rx meds.

Make sure your dosage is 300mg q8h. It can take up to 3 months to kick in, and acts as a SSRI. If it doesn't work after 3 months, try something else.

Thanks All.

I also intend to exercise more but gotta wait till the broken rib heals, LOL.

St John's Wort is a helluva lot cheaper than prescription meds so i wouldn't be surprised if the drug companies have bad mouthed it to death. I do know it's used extensively in Europe where it's only available via prescription.
