Ok, I know I can look this up somewhere, but I figured I'd get some real life opinions here. If you play electric bass, what type of strings do you use?

1.Brand?
2.Round wound vs Flat wound?
3.Steel vs nickleplated steel?
4.Gauge?

If it helps, I play an Ibanez Soundgear SR400 bass Pic doesn't do it justice though

1. Typically Blue Steel.
2. Round (depends on the type of bass though)
3. Nickel
4. Medium light, again it depends on your bass and style of music.

Warwick Black Labels.

I've played everything and they are consistantly great for me.

I played a Rick, which was supposed to use flat wound, but they always sounded kind of... flat.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I'll probably go for some round nickle plated strings (either nickle plated steel or nickle strings). The Ibanez has a thin, narrow neck so I'll have to go a little thinner gauge (or readjust my string height). Oh, and I play everything from Metallica to blues to church praise music.

I had no idea you played an instrument. Awesome. Oh, and I have a Ibanez Soundgear too! 5-string black, SR-505.

I've got a Tobias Killer B 5 string and a vintage Fender Jazz. On the Toby I use DR Lowrider's and the J-bass gets DR Hi-beams. I like their sound and have been pleased with them. In the past, I have used Roto-Sounds on the fender, but don't like them quite as much as the DR's.
