Anybody here own a Sound Blaster Audigy Ex?

I want to know how long the provided cable that connects the drive with the card is. Also, is it a standard IDE cable? Could I replace it with a longer one?

You can't replace the Live Drive cable with an IDE cable.

why does that suck? the plat is internal then plat ex is external. and thats the only difference between the 2

It's longer than a standard IDE cable. I would guess 24inches.
