Anybody here in Sheila Jackson Lee's district?

I may have missed it, but haven't seen a thread about her "very important" phone call she decided to take during a town hall meeting, rather than listening to questions from a constituent.

Looking around a little bit more, though, I found this:

It turns out that one of the people she *did* listen to (who, coincidentally, is in favor of the UHC plan) isn't quite a doctor like she advertised. Does anybody here think it's just dumb good luck that she got to shower the plan with praise?

Why would any elected official feel that he or she would be so untouchable as to pull these sorts of stunts?

edit: typo

It is actually better then that. I live in Houston and she was on the evening news claiming she was calling a hotline to get information to better answer the question being asked of her at that time.

What's the general opinion of her in Houston?

I live outside of her district but whenever there is a TV story on her I wonder how she got elected. Then I am reminded of the D.C. Mayor, the N.O. Mayor and just shake my head.

I'm pretty sure that would depend upon your race. She represents one of the poorest areas of Houston which is almost all Black. She is one of those race baiters like our local Quanell X, in fact whenever there is a camera and a Black man that might have been wronged the two of them are there. I actually think she wastes the taxpayer's money to do so considering one time she was on the local news during the week when Congress was in session....or she simply skipped that week. Neither would surprise me. She also thinks she is a queen that can do anything she wants because she is protected by her race and gender. Usually when I see her on the news the issue is racial in nature, or that is how she wants it perceived. She could never get elected to a district that was not all poor people.

C'mon - all she was doing was "multi-tasking":

And she better be good on it for she will need it on her next job!

Many of the congresspeople on both sides of the aisle are lame and low class almost beyond belief.

Don't be messing with my homeboy Quanell.

Is she the one whom punched a capitol building security guard, whom stopped her for not having ID on entering the building?

Nah - that was Cynthia McKinney. I don't think she's doing anything right now. Last we heard of her was her running for President on the Green ticket.

Depends on what part of Houston you live in. The burbs can't stand her. The inner-city loves her.

You could also break the opinion on her down as follows: idiots love her, anyone with half a brain can't believe the fact that such trash is a congressional representative.
