I'm planning to upgrade the speaker wire to 16 guage with mono plugs. Supposedly it gives better quality and whatnot. Has anyone here done this? Most of the old posts on Klipsch forums are not found I found one but I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their setup?

Also, would it be better to go even lower, say, to 14 guage?..

Any comments welcome :)

Who knows if it would work. I would say it's not worth the effort on $250 speakers.

Besides, you'd have to get the new cable into those plugs that go into the back of the speakers...it's not normal speaker wire connections.

It is not the major undertaking BDawg seems to envision. I have Promedias and never bothered with it myself, but I remember someone from the Klipsch BBS describing it. You can buy the adapters to step large-gauge wire down to a 1/8" plug at many audiophile stores. I would not get TOO carried away with the gauge of the wire, since it is my understanding that bass is the main thing lost in long runs of thin wire, and obviously not much bass is coming out of the crossover and being routed to the sats. I suppose if you are truly ambitious you could also replace the leads out of the sound card with some truly large-gauge wire to alleviate any losses there.

I have them. The only thing i did was to buy that new preamp but that's it. Why waste the time for a barely discernable difference in the sound. They sound great as is. Remember, these are computer speakers, if you really want audiophile sound, buy some nice components and speakers.
