I know people that have 3. They're like cats, only bigger. Also, they're fun to play with when they're young, but as they get older, the playing becomes more of a fighting. So watch out.

Dogs and cats used to be wild animals, too. If ancient people had nanny-state governments that "protected the people from themselves", we wouldn't have the pets that we have today.

Just my opinion.

If someone else in another state owns a skunk, how is that harming you? Why would you want a nationwide ban on something that doesn't affect you?

That goes for other issues as well. I never understood why people are so willing to take away someone else's rights just because they personally see no need for them. In my opinion, unless something hurts everybody and gives no law abiding citizen any pleasure, it should remain legal so that people with different interests can enjoy their rights.

I used to keep ferrets so I've got an interest in unusual pets though I'm not seriously considering a skunk.The reason I asked though is because of the family of 5 skunks I saw in my yard.I realise how little I know about them.
