I live here in Seattle.
I personally like the weather. Winters very rarely get colder than 38 or so at night, and it very rarely gets above 82 or so. But with that being said, it has been getting hottter during the summer. Yes, it can rain alot for a few days, but it's not that big of a deal.
Real estate varies on whether you live in Seattle proper, or the burbs. Neighborhoods like Capital Hill & Belltown are around $550 average for studios, and around $700 for one bedrooms. Deals can be found though. Condo's on average start around $130k for decent ones.
There is a sales tax of around 8.9% in King County, but no state income tax.
Lifestyle is pretty good. It's best for those that like a mix of outdoor and indoor things. There's lots of great hiking, fishing, and camping places not to far out of the city. If you're into live music and comedy, there's alot of that round. Also tons of great restaraunts and nightclubs.
I spent the first 23 years of my life in Eastern Washington (Spokane), and spent a year in Brooklyn, and been in Seattle for around 5 years. I would definately say that Seattle is by far my favorite of all of them, and if I can help it, I'll never leave here.
