The wife is flying into Reagan National and was told to take the Metro to Shady Groves (the end of the line). How safe is this?

A man showed me his bare ass on the subway in DC.

it sound safe then

He never touched me with it...just rubbed it up and down on the window while yelling at me before the train left.

I've never had a problem on them. Travel past Reagan National every day.

Very safe. I ride the Blue line everyday to State Department. The Blue line runs through Reagan National so I see it every day.

She will either get on the yellow or blue line and ride that in.

Ridden those lines many times over the past few years and never felt unsafe on one. One of the better systems in the US I think.

I lived in DC for almost 30 years and rode the subway 5 days a week for the past 8 years. The subways are safer than most. Just tell your wife to avoid southeast DC (anacostia mainly).

Err. I don't think the subways run 35 miles. You are talking about the VRE or the Maryland Commuter Rail.

A subway user gets raped every 4.6 seconds.

You'd think he'd have learned to take the bus by now.

She'll be fine. She needs to change from the yellow line at National to the RED line at GALLERY PLACE/CHINA TOWN and its a straight shot from there

She'll be fine. The subway is very nice here in DC. But I wouldn't recommend using it alone at night though. Too many fvcktards.

When we go down to DC, we get one of the all-day metro cards and use it quite a bit. Never ever had a problem. Even after Capitals games which ended ~10pm, no problems.

Lived there for a while, never had any issues. It closes at midnight tho ... and a couple of the stations have escalators that might give you vertigo

One of the better subways in the country. Sure beats the hell out of NYC in terms of cleanliness and simplicity.

on the weekend it closes at 3am, but i doubt she'll be flying in that late :)

and yes the subways are fine, especially since she won't be going to any crap parts of dc on her trip to shady grove.
