I will be arriving at DFW tomorrow, and I need to catch a Greyhound bus from there to Longview. Does anybody know how I could get to the bus station? Greyhound doesn't look like they have service at the airport and all the nearby terminals are about a half hour drive. Taxis would work, but are expensive. Are there any other bus services at the airport? If anybody knows about this it would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you just rent a car and drive? Then you aren't stuck with the schedule of the bus, you can't miss the bus...and when you are there you don't have to pay for taxis or anything.

I dunno what that greyhound is going to cost you but I would think a rental would be much more convenient.

It's one way, I'm going to college- I can't exactly return the car when Christmas break comes around.

What I think I'm going to do is take a shuttle(20 minut car ride, $20) to the Amtrak station (2.5 hr train ride, $17 :confused;).

Going to school with no car? Have a bike?

But yeah amtrak sounds like your easiest bet there.

I'm going to get a bike at a swap meet there and convert it to electric. (Engineering major)

Cheapest bet is likely the TRE (train) from DFW to the Dallas or Fort Worth, then walk from there to the Greyhound station. It's only $1.25 one way. I'm not sure where the TRE stops in Dallas in location to the Greyhound station, but the TRE stop in Ft. Worth is about 3 blocks from the Greyhound station.

edit: oh, and downtown Ft. Worth >>>>>>> over downtown Dallas. So if you have any down time it's a better place to kill time. I live in the area, and work in downtown Ft. Worth. Let me know if you have any other Qs.

It looks like that may be the best plan. It's only about 2 blocks from the TRE station to the greyhound station.

Map

TRE would let you off at 1001 Jones, and the Greyhound station is at 901 Commerce.

One of those is a big fvcking "block" so I count it as 2, but then again it's just a parking lot so you can cut across it. ;)
