Anybody here ever work as a notary public?

is that really a job? i always thought that people had that in addition to their normal jobs, like they could stamped a document type deal....

It is. I.E. you are correct in your assumption wiredspider.
 
In Canada there are some things a notary can't charge anything for or get any renumeration for, like signing a passport, not sure how things are down there.
