I was browsing through PC World, and there is a company that is advertising a Flatron Technology of their monitors. It basically says that the inside tube is also perfectly flat, as opposed to FD Trinitrons, where the outside is flat but the inner tube is not.

I could be wrong.

Anybody heard/seen these flatrons?

Supposedly they are as great as AG monitors but don't have the lines like AG monitors do. I couldn't tell ya though. I don't think you can get them in the US yet, though in Korea where they are made ya can.

I have a LG 17" Flatron. Trully flat, beautiful colors, razor sharp in the middle, just a little bit out of focus on the sides, but nothing much, very nice controls.

Too bad I'm returning mine tomorrow ... after 24h of operation, there was magnetization on the bottom of the screen ... degauss didn't work, and there are no magnetic fields near the monitor. Hope I get a better one tomorrow.

There is a specific reason the insides of FD trintrons are not flat.... because you need to refract the beam to hit the screen flat. I dont know about this new one, but my guess would be the outsides are not as clear as a FD, but the center may be sharper.
