there is an external 60gig firewire drive priced at around 150.00. on compusa.com. The catch is I have never heard of the company that makes it. Has anybody heard of Acomdata? if so is it any good, or is it not worth the buy? It will be used on a mac for music editing using protools.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah - I picked up a 40gig external drive at CompUSA a month or so ago for $50. Works great. It was a Samsung drive inside. I took it out and installed a Maxtor 120 gig.

Works super.

I have a Firewire Acom16X CD/RW external burner that has served me flawlessly now for almost a year - I never get coasters with it. It was less that $100 on sale at CompUSA last year.
