Anybody having problems Overclock w/Vista

I got my Core 2 Duo 100% stable on windows xp and memtest, but it will not boot in vista unless I put it at stock settings.

Specs are below

E6400 3300GHZ @ Stockvoltage
Biostar T-Force P965PT
GSkill 2x1GHZ 5-5-5-15

100% Stable in Windows XP, Orthos Prime 12Hours, and Memtest.
Any Idea's?

EDITED: It hangs when the windows marquee would show. When the progress bar is scrolling to show it is loading. It does 1 rounds through the progress bar then freezes half way through the second pass.

Yes, I had to reduce my o/c from 3.34 ghz to 3.15ghz (on same voltage settings) to stabilize vista. It was perfectly stable on XP before that!

Perhaps going from 32-bit single core to 64-bit dual core processing puts an extra demand on voltage requirements under vista vs xp.

nope, but i do notice my temps 5-7* hotter CPU, PWM and chipset so i guess if your overclock is the end of the heat spectrum you might get issues.

I think with the Aero interface using 3D acceleration and more hard-drive traffic happing in the background your computer just has a higher idle temp... But i think it is worth it 🙂
