I've got one. Posting from it now. I really like it. Its not a good gaming or multimedia phone. The screen looks fine, just not very large. It's great for web browsing, email, and pretty much anything else. It doesn't have an extremely fast processor so most games are no go. No loading apps from outside the Google app market (side loading) unless you root. Mine was rooted in 15-20 minutes total. I really like my aria.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

what is the clockspeed, i was wondering but they didnt have that listed in the spec in the store. is it much slower than 1 gigahertz? when you say its not good at multimedia is the video really choppy? im really tempted to get one, its really cheap to buy without an upgrade, i think is is only 250

The video isn't choppy, it's just a small screen. It's got decent resolution and speed. I've watched youtube videos and some movies I loaded up from my computer and they look perfectly fine, just not my first choice for multimedia. I had an iPhone 3G before this, and I still use it for any multimedia purposes. As far as that, the Aria can't compare.

The processor I believe is 600Mhz. It may be 667Mhz. In the Android system info app 600Mhz is the highest listed speed so I'm about 90% sure that's the processor speed. I do know that it has an ARMv6 (I think that's right) processor. Whatever type it is, whehter v5 or v6, I read on XDA forums that the 3.0 Android OS will most likely not run on that type of processor. That's not a definite, but most likely because it's outdated technology or not fast enough, something like that.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Here's a quote from the Engadget review:

Given that Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon was nowhere to be found (the Aria is outfitted with a 600MHz MSM 7227 alongside 512MB of ROM and 384MB of RAM), we didn't expect much on the speed front. Talk about having expectations shattered. Even with a host of apps running in the background and home screens loaded with apps, we never experienced any notable lag when going from screen to screen or app to app. We were continuously impressed with how quickly the screen recognized our swipes, and it's safe to say that you're getting every last ounce of power from this 600MHz power plant. We even dialed up a few YouTube HQ videos over 3G while having a smattering of apps open in the background in an attempt to slow it down -- needless to say, our experiment failed in spectacular fashion.

Wow, that's not too bad a review. Like I said, I really like mine. If I were to buy an android again knowing what I know now, I'd get the Samsung Captivate. It's slightly more future proofed and a little more multimedia-oriented. It does have problems with it's GPS but I don't even have GPS turned on on my Aria so I doubt I'd miss it.

I guess it just depends on what you want out of your phone. If you want it for email, standard phone functions, organization, and light game play then the Aria is great. I love the small size. If you want to watch movies and play intense games, the Captivate or something else may be a better choice. I know there're some phones you can unlock from other carriers and use on AT&T. FWIW, the reviewer's comment about not being able to slow it down is spot on. I've had an rss reader, email, text message, web browser, system info app, launcher pro(a home screen replacement if you're not familiar, which I believe runs on top of the normal home screen) and God only knows what else running on top of the standard stuff that runs all the time and NEVER noticed it lag.

Best of luck.

The processor is slow, but when I tested it out in the ATT store it was surprisingly fast. I believe OS optimization was at hand here.
