Anybody Have Problems with Philips 804 and CompUSA CDR's

Errors started to appear after I began using these CompUSA (free after rebate) 16X 80 minute discs. So far, I have burned 6 cd's, all coasters. Is there anybody else having problems with these discs? I am using the 2.5 firmware. Errors include buffer underruns, drive fixation errors, vcd's burned as audio cd's, and file not readable errors. Could this be the result of the bad media or do you think the drive is defective? Thanks.
