Hi ya all!!!

I just wonder if anybody have problem running GF3 Ti 200 (Gainward GF3 Ti 200 in my case) on VIA Chip chipset MB (Shuttle AK35GTR KT266A in my case) on Win Xp Pro.

Someone said to me that combo with not work on Win Xp Pro. Is that true, is anybody have any problem with other GF3 Ti 200 and other VIA chipset "KT266A, KT333"?

Thanks a bunch..

I'm running a MSI GeForce3 Ti200 on a Shuttle AK32 motherboard (VIA KT266 chipset) on XP Home with absolutely no problems of any kind. I don't see why XP Pro should be any different. Just make sure you have the latest VIA AGP driver installed.

Some people have had trouble. Do a search on the forums for "nvdisp" or "infinite loop". Others have not. I have a Gainward GF3 Ti200 on a Shuttle AK31A (KT266A) with Windows XP Pro and have no problems.

That's not a problem specific to the GF3 Ti200 on a VIA board though, as it can happen using an nVidia board on any chipset.
And on the rare occasion even using non-nVidia boards.

That's true, thanks for elaborating, I was too lazy. 😀

I have a Gainward GF3 Ti200 64MB on a Iwill KK266 (KT133A) running WinXP Pro. Works good and hasn't had a problem with any nvidia drivers I've used: 23.11, 27.42, and 28.32.

I have a similar problem with my Abit KA7. I installed a Visontek GF4 4400 into my Win98SE box and the install went fine. All the standard apps worked okay but I couldn't run a 3d program like Medal of Honor. I could go into the program setup but it wouldn't run the game. I tried several different games like Solider of Fortune, Combat Flight Simulator etc and even reset the video defaults and Bios defaults to standard but it made no difference.

I then did a clean install of Win98SE and one of Win2k with the same results. I finally took the GF4 out and put my Kyro2 back in. I put the GF4 it in my son's KT7A with a 1700XP and it worked great. I'll try his GF3 TI500 next and see if there's any difference.
