Anybody have cingular, and want to do me a favor?

I need somebody with cingular to call in and get an unlock code for my Siemens SX66 phone. I can give you the imei for it. I was talking to a rep, and he was going to give me the code, and the call disconnected...the next 3 reps said they won't give it to me unless I'm a customer.

I bought the phone on ebay as unlocked, but it's aparently not...Says that the code should be on the box but it's not.

Don't Cingular phones come unlocked?
That has been my experience in the past when I had T-Mobile.

I'm a Cingular customer. Can they unlock my Cingular phone? I'm curious because I thought they frown on unlocking. I would like to get my phone unlocked so I can sell it and upgrade (Sony T616).

*edit* how do you like the SX66?? (I guess you haven't been able to use it yet? 😛)
That's the same phone I'm thinking of getting--pretty much the same featureset as my phone but more memory and better camera.

*edit2* oops I'm retarded...I thought u meant the S66, not the SX66. I guess you got the PocketPC phone--cool! S66 is a generic candybar phone.

Over the phone probably won't work because Cingular phone support will probably have the list of all the IMEI #s used on a particular account. You'd be better off trying a regular Cingular store, who may do it out of the goodness of their hearts.
If not, just give them a CD with 1stkiss and 2ndkiss - that should do the trick. 😀

Alot of people do have Cingular here, but nobody wants to help you. What you are asking for is a huge favor. Sometimes calling in and getting a phone unlocked is painless. Oftentimes, it's a real PITA. Unlocking is something some customer care people think is a big deal. Or else, they'd just ship every phone unlocked. You are potentially asking someone to spend alot of time and hassle on the phone for you.
