i'm thinking of getting 1, or 2. i forget if they can live in groups of 2 or not. my tank is about 80 or 90 gallons and should be big enough to house one comfortably. any body?

They'll be fine.

Be prepared to feed crickets and bugs as well as fish. Look at the shape of their mouths. They really need bugs in their diet, not just feeders.

i was thinking of buying arowana food from hikaris. the wife won't take well to keeping live crickets in the house. do they really jump out of the water when doing water changes or are those just extreme cases?

i thought i read somewhere they 2 is not good and either keep 1 or 3 because one will pick on another. i can't remember where i read that now.

Seriously............. get a book, look up articles on the net or find a fish forum to ask these questions.

I hope you've got a *big* tank; Arowanas can get quite large.

Good fortune? Probably. I believe these fish are considered to be "water dragons" in chinese myth and culture, and dragons have all sorts of meanings.

I would say an 80g tank is not large enough to be comfortable. I wouldnt even think about an adult arowana in anythign smaller than 150g or so.
