Anybody have any issues with firmware 7.50/7.51 on the PS4?

It had probably been since March was the last time my PS4 had been used/ turned on. I bought a new game and decided to fire it up again. The update screen came up and I followed all the onscreen prompts like always since I bought the PS at launch. And long story short the update did something to the PS4 and it now has the infamous BLOD.

So I was wondering if anyone else had issues installing these particular updates? Perhaps my PS was ready to go belly up and the strain of installing them was too much.

That is really crappy and sucks. I didn't read through all comments so it may be worth checking out if anyone offers any help.
