anybody have any experience with freenas?

i got everything setup and even mapped the drive to my windows pc. but when I try to move files over onto teh server, it gets an error. I cant give you the exact error right now, but I will when I get back home. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I've been following the project. Great idea, but it's super buggy. Wouldn't trust my data on it. Are you using raid 5? Dedicated card or software raid?

i'm just using one pata drive...nothing complicated. yeah like you said, it a great idea, but its really buggy...took me a while to get it setup and now I have no idea why this error is occuring.

Do you know aything about naslite+? I've heard good things about it.

I installed it in vmware, and I'm not having any major issues yet...

Has this installation ever worked?

In the webGUI configuration, under Status: Disks: What are the status of your disks?
Under the Serivces:CIFS section (I'm guessing you're using CIFS): What kind of authentication are you using?
Anything interesting in the logs (diagnotics:logs)?

Over all, I think this is pretty nice. I might have to set it up at home. 😛

UFS is fine by the way. If the machine crashes it won't be the fastest to come up, but it should be stable. If you didn't previously, I'd select the option to format with soft updates though. Soft updates are nice. 😉
