I need to find out what type of modem Gateway is using in this box... Anybody know what chipset? One of our phone customers is having a hell of a time connecting with what I think is an old driver. Anybody want to play nerd trivia?

Hey. Do you mean a Gateway Essentails 400c system? My grandmom bought has this one. I do not know off the top of my head what modem is being used. But, I dunno how much help this will be to you, but tomorrow I will be going over there and I could check. But.......I at the same time bought a Select 475 and I dunno if these 2 models would be using the same modem but the one that came with my Gateway was a Telepath 56K WinModem. If you want, I can let you know tomorrow evening what modem it is, LMK ok? What chipset? Do you mean the North Bridge chipset? Intel 810. LMK,

Thanks AFA,
Yes, it's the Essential 400C. Unfortunately Gateway's support site is setup by part number, and the people I'm working with don't have a part number on the modem. :Q When I had them go to their modem properties, it reported "56K data/fax PCI modem"...very informative, :disgust: not! And trying to walk customers through init strings is a nightmare I'd rather not go through.

Oh yeah, when I say chipset, I mean the chipset of the modem.
