Has anybody tried a Samsung 840 pro in a Dell e6440? I've seen where this SSD has firmware issues with the Lenovo T440s, looking to see if I should go with a different model SSD with the e6440.

I've got an 840Pro in an old Dell Inspiron 1501 (AMD CPU.) Works fine and runs like a scalded dog compared to the old spinner.

Dont really see why it would have been an issue. Despite ssd being different tech, it is still a sata connection, same as any other hard drive.

They'll work fine. The 840 Pro is one of the series they use in their systems, if you can actually get it configured that way, and are willing to pay ~$1.5/GB for it (but, that's a rant for another forum...).

Was actually considering that upgrade myself. Should work just fine, no reason it shouldn't.
