i'm thinking about building one, but i'm limited by three things....

1. cost
2. i usually don't read books more than once or twice...
3. wth am i going to do with them when i move to grad school?

anyways, just curious... i've always thought it would be cool to have a bookshelf full of the books you deemed to be the best ever. all i have is a bookshelf full of old textbooks (from my old classes)... i also have a bunch of novels from when i was little. but i'm talking about books like the 1911 edition of encyclopedia brittanica or books by allister cooke or something.

My limiting factor is that if I ever had a personal library, I would have to become either a super-villain or Edgar Allan Poe.

I use to when I my old house, when I moved I sold off everything just so I wouldn't have to figure out what I was going to do with it now that I'm in a smaller place.

Lol, there is nothing wrong with having a personal library. You don't have to be a super-villain or madman to have one ;). Some of us like having the ability to re-read a book anytime we want. My collection of scifi/fantasy alone runs well over 200 books.

As for the cost factor, don't try to build a big library all at once. Buy a few books here and there, and over time they will accumulate. I never had the intention of building a big library. It just kindof happened :p.

I have every single paperback of Forgotten Realms and Dragon Lance. Does that count?
