Anybody have a kt7/kt133 w/ a mx300 in win2k working?

Yesterday I had winamp going fine with the default aureal sound i win2k, but after a while no more sound. So I decided to update the drivers to the latest win2k from aureal 5.10 for win2k? I can get the initial chime in win2k but no sound, tried music cd, winamp, windows sound, video clip, and games.

v3 in agp
mx300 in pci slot 3
3com nic in pci slot 6
tekram 390uw in pci slot 2

I've heard problems of aureal based cards with kt133, and i'm wondering if this is a problem or just faulty installation. I followed the guide on vortexofsound. I've installed the latest via4-1, agp and inf files if that has anything to do with it.

I'm about to shoot myself and throw that MX300 card down the elevator shaft ... can't get it to work on my new KT7 in windows 98 ... after a few hours, I finally got the drivers to finish installing without crashing the system ... but when I reboot, I hear about 1/2 second worth of sound before Windows freezes up ! AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

If you have any pointers on solutions for this, I'm a taker !

maybe its an irq conflict. i couldn't install my mx300 until it had an irq all by itself, just remove everything and just try to fix the sound first. follow vortexofsound removal and installation procedures.

-I'm tossing the mx300 and using an sblive gamer. the exchange crashed win2k, so i had to do a reinstall. I'm not install any via crap or windows sp1.

Had the same problem, I tried switching pci slots but same thing
MX300/Win2000
Good thing I also have an SB Live value
Might want to try changing bios config regarding Pnp devices/OS controlled
